What We Repair
- Decking — spongy boards, popped fasteners, sun-split lumber; pressure-treated, composite or hardwood over a sound frame.
- Structure — stringers, joists, bracing and the connections tide cycles work loose; on an eight-foot tide the load cycle count runs higher here than anywhere south of the Chesapeake.
- Gangways and floats — Savannah’s tide range makes gangways steeper and float travel longer than most coasts; hinge, roller and guide wear are this water’s signature repairs.
- Hardware — cleats, brackets and bolts upgraded to marine-grade stainless; brackish river water eats bargain hardware in a few seasons.
- Storm damage — Matthew came up this coast in 2016 and Irma flooded it in 2017; docks patched cosmetically then are failing structurally now.

The honest threshold: when repair passes about half the cost of rebuilding on sound pilings — or the pilings themselves are spent — the rebuild wins, and rebuilding on an existing permitted footprint keeps the CRD paperwork light. We’ll tell you which side of that line your dock is on.
